The Talking Thinking Dancing Body was a series of facilitated conversations between 2012 and 2020. It was initiated and facilitated by Lee Su-Feh in 2012, before developing into a format of having two faciliators. From 2013-2015, it led by Justine A. Chambers and Lee Su-Feh; from 2016-2018, by Sadira Rodrigues and Justine A. Chambers; and finally from 2019-2020 it was led by Alexa Solveig Mardon and Rianne Svelnis who curated guest artists.

The Talking Thinking Dancing Body sought to create a space where folks could talk about performance without ignoring the world it was in through an intersectional feminist lens, and with a commitment to understanding anti-racist, anti-ableist, decolonial approaches and perspectives.

On April 18, 2023, all the facilitators gathered in Su-Feh’s living room to record a conversation that responded to these three questions:

  1. What were you doing when you encountered the Talking, Thinking, Dancing Body (TTDB)?

  2. What was your experience facilitating it?

  3. What did you learn from this experience that you continue to use?

This recording will be released as a podcast soon. Stay tuned.
